A SEASONAL RITUAL
Sorrel Noël
A celebration of hibiscus, spice, and Caribbean tradition.
Sorrel Noël is The Third Element's signature botanical blend, inspired by the Caribbean tradition of preparing sorrel during the holiday season.
Deep crimson hibiscus is layered with dried orange peel and warming spices to create a vibrant botanical infusion that is tart, aromatic, and deeply rooted in tradition.
Created to be enjoyed slowly, shared generously, and returned to season after season.
Product Story
Sorrel is more than a beverage.
Across the Caribbean, it is tied to gathering, celebration, family, and the holiday season. Sorrel Noël honors that tradition while introducing it through the lens of The Third Element: intentional sourcing, botanical education, and respect for origin.
OUR PHILOSOPHY
Rooted in Origin.
We believe understanding a botanical begins with understanding where it comes from.
Rooted in People, Place & Tradition
The Third Element was created around a simple idea: plants should not become anonymous ingredients simply because they enter a package.
Their origin matters.
The land matters.
The people who cultivate them matter.
And the traditions surrounding their use matter.
Our vision is to build meaningful relationships with growers, producers, and botanical communities — particularly throughout the Caribbean — while creating greater transparency between the source of a plant and the person ultimately using it.
We are especially inspired by the botanical traditions, agriculture, and communities of Saint Lucia and Dominica.
As The Third Element grows, our goal is to deepen these relationships through direct sourcing partnerships and to tell the stories behind the botanicals we offer — where they were grown, who cultivated them, and the traditions that have kept them relevant for generations.

For us, provenance isn't simply a sourcing detail. It is part of the product. Rooted in origin. represents our commitment to preserving the connection between plant, place, people, and purpose.
FOUNDER & PHARMACIST
The Third Element was founded from a desire to explore the space between two worlds that are often treated as separate: traditional botanical knowledge and modern pharmacy.
As a pharmacist, Jakeia Smith has spent her career understanding medications — how they work, how they interact, and how they affect the human body.
But her curiosity extended beyond conventional medicine.
She became increasingly interested in the plants, foods, preparations, and healing traditions that existed long before modern pharmaceuticals — and in how people could approach botanical wellness with greater knowledge and intention.
That curiosity eventually became The Third Element Apothecary & Wellness.
Jakeia Smith, PharmD
Why Pharmacist-led Matters.
Botanicals are powerful, but "natural" does not automatically mean appropriate for every person.
Herbs and supplements can interact with medications, health conditions, and one another.
The Third Element brings a pharmacist's perspective into the botanical wellness conversation — helping people ask better questions about what they're taking, why they're taking it, and how it fits into the larger picture of their health.
The goal is not to position traditional and modern approaches against one another.
It is to create a more informed relationship between them.
